Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) girls Athlete of the Week poll.
For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.
This week, we consider performances from Oct. 14-19.
Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Vote as many times as you’d like until then without using bots or any other artificial methods of voting.
Votes by email and after 5 p.m. Wednesday are not counted.

We accept nominations until 11 a.m. each Monday.

On to the nominees:
Jessica Blake, Alhambra flag football: The quarterback combined to throw six touchdown passes in wins against Miramonte and Las Lomas. The scoring passes went to Julissa Islas, Ashlyn Doughtie, Jesseca Harcourt and Juliana Carranza.
Claribel Chen, Mission San Jose volleyball: The junior had a team-high 11 kills in a victory over Newark Memorial. Chen has 138 kills and 197 digs on the season for a team that began this week 22-5.
Annaliyah Felix, Andrew Hill flag football: The senior quarterback threw for four touchdowns and passed for 292 yards in a victory over Independence. Hill improved to 11-2 on the season.
Zuie Jog, Archbishop Mitty girls water polo: The junior finished with seven goals, five assists and three steals in a 17-11 victory over WCAL rival St. Francis. That gave her 54 goals on the season.
Ally Larsen, Miramonte water polo: The senior UCLA commit scored five goals and made a number of defensive plays as the Matadors defeated Las Lomas. “We go as Ally does,” Miramonte coach John Roemer said.
Stacia Levin, Prospect water polo: The Panthers’ senior captain had the game of her life against Mt. Pleasant, scoring seven goals and handing out an eye-popping 11 assists to go along with five steals.
Jordan Matuk, Gunderson volleyball: The senior had 10 kills, nine digs and an ace in a sweep of James Lick. The Grizzlies improved to 8-0 in BVAL West Valley play.
Maren Mulloy, Menlo School flag football: The junior led her team in flag pulls in victories over Sacred Heart Prep and St. Ignatius as the defense did not allow a touchdown. Mulloy also had two receiving touchdowns and a 2-point conversion as Menlo improved to 14-0 overall and clinched the WBAL title.
Sofia Poonen, The King’s Academy flag football: The senior had 134 yards receiving and five TDs, picked off two passes and pulled five flags in games against St. Francis and Notre Dame-Belmont. Poonen is closing in on 1,000 receiving yards for the season.
Ava Torgersen, Skyline cross country: The junior dusted the competition at the Oakland Region Meet 5K race, finishing it in 19:26.20. Second place crossed the finish line in 22.55.30.
