Novato police arrested a man who allegedly injured a child with his bicycle and then fled.
The incident happened at about 9:50 p.m. Friday near the corner of Grant Avenue and Second Street. Police Lt. Sophia Winter said the 8-year-old victim was taken to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
The next morning, investigators reviewed surveillance camera footage from a nearby business and identified the suspect, Winter said. Officers found him later near the corner of Peach and Chase streets.
Anthony Edward Mowry, 22, of Novato was booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and possessing drug paraphernalia. He was released Monday pending further review by the Marin County District Attorney’s Office.
Mowry could not be reached for comment.
