Alameda 27, Piedmont 7
The Hornets jumped out to a 9-0 halftime lead and never looked back against host Piedmont. Lei’yan Molina threw touchdown passes to Zalayah Cobarruviaz and Leaira Robinson.
Speedy running back Pam Smith ran for a touchdown, and captain Kelly Wu had multiple pass breakups as Alameda improved to 16-3.
“We were missing two of our Big 3 and we knew Piedmont would make an adjustment,” coach Michael Lee said. “The rest of the team stepped up.”
Andrew Hill 32, Independence 12
Annaliyah Felix threw four touchdowns and passed for 292 yards in a victory over fellow San Jose school Independence. Jenifer Lopez had four catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns, while Jazmine Turios had two receiving touchdowns and an interception. Yesenia Fonseca had a rushing touchdown and also pulled in three receptions for 59 yards.
Granada 35, Dublin 6
Granada continued to roll in a rout against Dublin, with Kathryn Vail throwing four touchdown passes, three of them going to Marin Lnenicka. Alondra Cordova-Hernandez rushed for two touchdowns, and Rowan Weiss had a pair of interceptions as the Matadors cruised.
Branham 33, James Lick 0
Carla Granados Perez threw for four touchdowns and 280 yards, all in the first half. Sydney Short caught two touchdowns and also threw a scoring pass. Autumn Burns rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns, and Audriana Aguilar had a 30-yard interception.
Castro Valley 20, Mt. Eden 12
Freshman Castro Valley quarterbacks Mya Williams and Chloe Spade threw for a touchdown each, while Kiana Aylion rushed for 110 yards. Spade and Naomi Chew each caught a touchdown too, and Elllie Bennett had a sack. Gabrielle Rogge and Arabella Pey both had an interception.

Berkeley 21, Piedmont 12
Berkeley coach Alon Yoeli says that senior Yair Sas’ nickname is “LeBron” because of his great all-around excellence, and he showed why against Piedmont. Sas scored nine goals and had two assists, and twin brother Beckett Sas had four goals and three assists.
“Yair has been a strong leader for our team time and time again,” Yoeli said.
Mateo Flores-Knapp had three goals and one assist, and Jaymul Barot and Oleg Mironov each had a goal apiece.
De La Salle 21, Foothill 6
The Spartans easily handled EBAL opponent Foothill thanks to the well-rounded play of senior Adrian Anderson, who had five steals and three goals, and Laith Owens, who scored twice for the Concord powerhouse.
Sequoia 22, Aragon 4
Sophomore standout A.J McDonald had himself a game on Tuesday night, scoring five goals and dishing out six assists. Senior Sam Van Wert wasn’t too shabby either, getting five goals past the keeper and also handing out five assists.
Liberty 9, Heritage 6
Liberty locked up the top seed in the BVAL tournament after going 2-0 against rival Heritage. Junior Joel Ray led the team with three goals, one assist, three steals and four ejections drawn,. And senior captain Qusai Drief was also key on offense with two goals, one Assist, three steals and three sprint wins. Junior Zach Pierce had a pair of goals and played great defense according to coach Rosina Ayers. .
Prospect 26, Mt. Pleasant 1
The girls weren’t the only ones who enjoyed an easy victory over Mt. Pleasant. Emil Veksler had six saves, while Matyas Tari-Geli had four saves. Kyle Pollace had six goals and three assists, and Jacob Kahn had four goals while David Weber had three goals. Mihailo Radovic had two goals and five assists, and Eddie Ikic had three goals, three assists and four steals.

Monte Vista 18, Amador Valley 7
After a slow start to the game, MV coach Christopher Chan said that the team ripped off eight goals in the second quarter to pull away from Amador. Nine different players scored for the Mustangs, with freshmen Annelise Stark and Lauren Lynam combining for eight goals. Senior Jolie Thornson had two goals, two assists and one exclusion drawn.
Prospect 28, Mt. Pleasant 2
Stacia Levin had the game of her life against Mt. Pleasant, scoring seven goals and handing out an eye-popping 11 assists to go along with five steals. Lily Levin had four goals and four assists, Dalia Thompson had four goal, sophomore Amanda Kong and Kat Borich also had four goals apiece, and Layla Gray and Brianna Antonio Castillo each had two goals for Prospect.
Girls volleyball
Las Lomas 3, Miramonte 1
Las Lomas’ Stella Myers had 15 assists in the Knights’ 25-19, 25-19, 16-25, 25-21 victory against Miramonte. Her teammate Amara Enemuo had 11 kills as an outside hitter, and Sophia Woods had four kills and three blocks in the middle.
