SAN JOSE — A Campbell woman has died from injuries she suffered in a car crash in a residential neighborhood in South San Jose earlier this month, authorities said.
The single-vehicle crash was reported around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 in the 1400 block of St. Francis Drive. Police said the driver was traveling south in a white 2012 Ford Edge SUV when, for a reason under investigation, she drove out of her lane, hit a parked car, then hit a tree.
She was taken to a hospital for what were initially described as minor injuries, and she was expected to survive, but she died on Oct. 5, police said.
The driver has been identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office as Letitia Leighhazelma Coriakula, 43, of Campbell. Her official cause of death is still pending.
The crash marked the 42nd roadway death of the year investigated by San Jose police.
