OAKLAND — A man who was shot and killed here had been threatened days earlier after stopping at least one man from fighting a woman, according to authorities.
William Robinson Jr., 27, was fatally shot on Aug. 27 while standing on the 2400 block of International Boulevard in Oakland. Police say Robinson appeared to have been targeted by two people who pulled up in a vehicle, parked, and opened fire at him before fleeing in the same car.
Robinson sold cellphone service and frequented the neighborhood for his job, the news station KTVU reported.
Just days before his death, Robinson had stopped a fight from escalating in that same area, and the other involved parties notified him they’d return and kill him, multiple witnesses later told police. Authorities haven’t said if they’ve identified either suspect and no arrests have been announced.
