PROVIDENCE- In a heated courtroom on Tuesday morning, the two men accused of killing a 7-year-old girl in Providence appeared before the judge. Shaheem Nathaniel, 26, and Ahmari Cabrera, 19, were both charged with 11 counts, including first-degree murder. Their detention without bond was mandate.

On the evening of August 29, Cabrera and Nathaniel are charged with shooting at an automobile on Florence Street. According to the police, the girl was struck by gunfire while riding in the car with her father and younger brother. She passed away four days after being taken to the hospital in severe condition.

Mayor Brett Smiley stated, “It’s a really sad day and there’s going to be a time to go mourn this loss, but then there’s going to be a time for action to ensure that incidents like this don’t happen again in our city.” “I am aware that a 7-year-old child who was completely innocent is dying, and this is a terrible day for our city,” the speaker said.

Besides the murder charge, Cabrera and Nathaniel are accused of:
