26-Year-Old Illegal Alien Accused of Stabbing 14-Year-Old Girl at Indiana Baseball Game: Deported in 2018, Returned Illegally

Dimas Gabriel Yanez, a 26-year-old man who had been deported but returned illegally was arrested after allegedly stabbing a 14-year-old girl and her mother at a baseball game in Lowell, Indiana.

Illegal Alien Accused of Stabbing Teen Girl at Baseball Game

Dimas Gabriel Yanez, a 26-year-old man was arrested on Sunday afternoon after a search in connection with stabbing a 14-year-old girl at a baseball game in Lowell, Indiana. The incident happened on Saturday when Yanez allegedly attacked the girl while she was watching her brother’s game near VFW 6841. The girl was hurt with a stab wound to her hand and her mother tried to help but was also attacked by Yanez, according to the report of NBC Chicago.

The police searched for Yanez and found him in southern Lake County early Sunday. After a chase through a cornfield, he was caught by a sheriff’s deputy near 120th Street and Iowa Avenue. Yanez was then taken to the Lake County Jail. It was discovered that Yanez had been deported to Honduras in 2018 but had returned to the U.S. illegally.

Authorities Work to Ensure Justice After Violent Attack at Community Event

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has been informed about Yanez’s arrest as the investigation continues. The teenager was treated at a local hospital for her injuries and has now been released. The quick arrest and ongoing investigation are aimed at addressing the violence that disrupted the community event and ensuring justice for the victim and her family.

Yanez’s arrest has brought some relief to the Lowell community which was disturbed by the attack during what was supposed to be a peaceful event. Authorities are now focused on understanding why the attack happened and ensuring public safety. The Lake County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are working together on the case to ensure justice for the victim and her family.
