Dimas Gabriel Yanez, a 26-year-old man was arrested on Sunday afternoon after a search in connection with stabbing a 14-year-old girl at a baseball game in Lowell, Indiana. The incident happened on Saturday when Yanez allegedly attacked the girl while she was watching her brother’s game near VFW 6841. The girl was hurt with a stab wound to her hand and her mother tried to help but was also attacked by Yanez, according to the report of NBC Chicago.
The police searched for Yanez and found him in southern Lake County early Sunday. After a chase through a cornfield, he was caught by a sheriff’s deputy near 120th Street and Iowa Avenue. Yanez was then taken to the Lake County Jail. It was discovered that Yanez had been deported to Honduras in 2018 but had returned to the U.S. illegally.
