Great news for individuals with disabilities and seniors with limited income! The Social Security Administration (SSA) is simplifying the application process for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) with a new online system called iClaim. Starting in December, iClaim will be available to a wider range of individuals, streamlining the application process and making it more efficient according to News Nation Now.

SSA Commissioner Martin O’Malley shared that over the past year, they have been listening to feedback from people who apply for SSI, advocates, and their workers to find ways to make the application process simpler. The claim expansion is the result of that effort, and it will first be available to new applicants between 18 and 65 years old and who have never been married.
