According to the report of The US Sun, Maryland residents charged unlawful utility fees by RealPage Utility Management might be eligible for compensation from a $1.8 million class action settlement. RealPage denies wrongdoing but has agreed to settle due to claims of illegal fees and improper certification for collection agencies. Legal fees will take up a third of the settlement. Claims must be submitted by September 2 and cover utility bills from April 1, 2017 to June 30, 2023.

About 233,000 people could be affected but payouts will depend on valid claims. Submitting claims promptly is crucial. Payment timing is undetermined and opting out is no longer possible.
