The breach which happened in December 2022, affected about 279,063 people. The company is accused of not having enough security measures or training for employees. Although CGM denies any wrongdoing and they are settling to address the complaints. If you received a notice from CGM, you can get up to $4,400 depending on your losses. Ordinary losses can be covered up to $400 and $20 per hour for up to four hours of lost time. Extraordinary losses can get up to $4,000. If you don’t have documentation you might get around $20 but this could change based on how many claims are filed. The deadline to submit claims is August 26, 2024 with a final court hearing set for later today.
In other news, if you were affected by a data breach at Great Expressions, a dental care network and you might be able to claim up to $6,000 from a $2.7 million settlement. This breach happened in February 2023 and affected nearly 250 dental centers. You have until November 8 to file your claim. Also, Costco shoppers might be able to get money from a separate settlement due to overcharges as reported by The U.S. Sun.
