Florida’s Tax-Free Holiday: Stock Up on Essential Hurricane Supplies Before the Season Peaks
According to Axios, Florida’s last disaster supply sales-tax holiday of the year starts this Saturday and lasts until September 6. With hurricane season getting more intense, this holiday helps people buy important items without paying extra sales tax. These items, like food, water, batteries, and first aid supplies, are important in case a storm hits.
The Florida Division of Emergency Management created a checklist to help people buy essential items, like portable power banks and self-powered radios, during the tax-free period, allowing them to assemble a disaster kit for under $200, especially after recent storms like Tropical Storm Debby.
