According to MARCA, A big company, Nationwide Vision, has agreed to pay $3.45 million because they made a mistake. They accidentally shared the personal information of over 710,000 people. This happened between April and May 2021, and it affected patients, employees, and their families who worked with Nationwide Optometry, Nationwide Vision Center, and Sightcare.
The company didn’t do enough to keep their information safe, which is why this happened. Now, people who were affected can get some money back. The money they get will depend on how many people claim it. On average, each person will get around $50.

Everyone affected will also get free help to keep their identity safe for two years. People need to send in their claims by September 23, 2024, and a final decision will be made on October 15, 2024.
