As per the article of The US Sun, Group 1001, an insurance and annuity company, has reached a $4.76 million settlement after a 2023 data breach that compromised the sensitive information of nearly 475,947 customers, according to The US Sun. Those impacted by this breach may qualify for up to $5,000 in compensation to cover expenses like bank fees, communication costs, and credit-related charges. To receive their share of the settlement, eligible individuals need to submit their claims by October 10, 2024, along with documentation proving their expenses.

The settlement also offers additional benefits to class members, including three years of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection services, along with $1 million in identity theft insurance. Those who have been notified of their eligibility should look for further details in the mail, as payments will vary based on how many people file valid claims.
