Cherilus Faces Multiple Charges and Restrictions Following In-Flight Incident

According to True Crime News, former NFL player Gosder Cherilus was arrested after causing a flight to Dublin, Ireland to return to Boston Logan International Airport on August 18. Cherilus became disruptive shortly after the plane took off creating a serious disturbance. Reports say he acted aggressively and was unruly urinating on an elderly woman and striking a male passenger. This unacceptable behavior caused the flight crew to make the difficult decision to turn the plane around and head back to Boston creating a major inconvenience for all onboard.

The situation on the flight escalated quickly as Cherilus argued with other passengers and refused to follow the flight attendants’ instructions. His actions including the 20-second incident where he urinated on the elderly woman created a chaotic and uncomfortable environment. He also physically struck another passenger further increasing tensions. Upon returning to Boston Cherilus continued to resist authorities. Four Massachusetts State Police troopers and Customs and Border Protection officials had to use two sets of handcuffs to restrain him and bring the situation under control.

Cherilus Released on Bail with Conditions After Flight Incident; Claims Medication Impacted Behavior

Cherilus is facing multiple charges such as disorderly conduct interfering with aircraft operation, and resisting arrest. He has pleaded not guilty to these charges. After being arrested Cherilus was released on bail with specific conditions. He is prohibited from going back to Logan Airport and is banned from consuming alcohol and drugs. In a social media statement Cherilus claimed that his disruptive actions were a result of a sleeping medication he had taken which he says led to his behavior being out of character. Delta Airlines has condemned his actions and apologized to the passengers for the delay and disruption caused by the incident.
