Irvine Shoplifting Suspect Arrested After Hiding in Tesla Trunk
$850 in Stolen Goods Recovered After Woman Hides from Police in Tesla
A woman in Irvine was arrested after attempting to hide from police in the trunk of a Tesla at the Irvine Spectrum Center. CBS News reports that the woman, 35-year-old Emely Yanagida, was suspected of shoplifting $600 worth of items from Sephora and $250 worth of goods from Lululemon. After store security was unable to stop her, she ran into the parking lot. A witness then saw her climb into a white Tesla and hide in the trunk, leading to her arrest.

Shoplifting Suspect Caught Hiding in Tesla Trunk with Stolen Goods, Arrested in Irvine
Police found shoplifting suspect Yanagida under a bright green tarp in the trunk. Even though she said she didn’t steal anything, the police found the stolen items with her. Yanagida was arrested and charged with having tools for stealing, resisting arrest, and shoplifting.
