San Diego Man Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run
Driver Faces Charges After Woman Dies from Injuries
According to NBC7 San Diego, a 31-year-old San Diego man has been arrested for a fatal hit-and-run that occurred early on August 1 in Logan Heights. Around 3 a.m. a 49-year-old woman was crossing at National Avenue and 28th Street when a white 2015 Chevrolet Silverado making a left turn hit her. The driver then drove away leaving her seriously injured.
Emergency responders took the woman to the hospital but she died from her injuries soon after. The San Diego Police identified the suspect’s vehicle and on Friday afternoon the driver Erick Rios turned himself in. He has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run and is now in County Jail.
