Damon Roberts Arrested for Shooting that Left Father Critically Injured in His Sleep
East Oakland Father on Life Support After Being Shot While Sleeping at Home
According to The Mercury News, a 20-year-old man from Oakland named Damon Roberts was arrested for a shooting that left a father badly hurt while he was sleeping at home. The victim, 33-year-old Run Hua Kuang, was sleeping in his apartment in East Oakland when a bullet came through the wall and hit him in the head. Kuang had just come home from work as a delivery truck driver. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors did a seven-hour surgery. He is now on life support, trying to survive.

Kuang moved to the U.S. from China in 2005 to give his family a better life. He is the only one who works to support his wife, their two young daughters, and his parents. Kuang also handles all the family’s needs because he is the only one who speaks English. His sister, Jasmine, shared his dedication as a husband, father, and son. A GoFundMe page was created to help with his medical expenses, and the police are still looking into what happened in the suspect Damon Roberts shooting incident.
