Uber Driver Killed in Carjacking Gone Wrong in Omaha
Police Launch Investigation into Fatal Shooting of 64-Year-Old Uber Driver
According to TrueCrimeNews, Tragedy struck Omaha on Tuesday, August 13, when a 64-year-old Uber driver, Mursal Jama, was fatally shot during a carjacking. The incident occurred just before midnight, when police received a call about a shooting on Cady Court. Jama was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. According to reports, Jama sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the stomach. The police quickly launched an investigation and managed to locate Jama’s vehicle, which was taken during the shooting, and engaged in a pursuit.
Four Teen Suspects in Custody for Fatal Carjacking of Uber Driver in Omaha
The pursuit ended with a car crash, and four suspects fled the scene. One of the suspects was apprehended by Nebraska State Patrol, but the other three got away. However, they were soon recaptured after trying to gain entry into a resident’s house. All four suspects – aged 13, 14, 11, and 17 – were detained for criminal homicide, robbery, and use of a weapon to commit a felony. The 13-year-old also had a warrant for unlawful absence, and the 17-year-old was charged with possession of a gun by a juvenile. A 16-year-old was later taken into custody and charged with similar crimes. The two older suspects will be charged as adults, while the younger two will not due to their age.
