Governor Murphy’s Game-Changer: How the ANCHOR Program is Rolling Back Property Taxes

According to TheSuns, New Jersey residents are breathing a sigh of relief as the state’s notoriously high property taxes are set to be eased through the ANCHOR program. The program, now in its third year, has already made a significant impact on the lives of many families, providing rebates to both homeowners and renters. For those who qualify, the rebates can be a game-changer, putting much-needed money back into their pockets.

Governor Phil Murphy has championed the program, calling it a “game changer” and highlighting its effectiveness in rolling back property tax levels by a decade or more. The program has been designed to ease the financial burden on families, providing rebates of up to $1,750 to homeowners with annual incomes under $250,000 and up to $700 for renters earning less than $150,000. With automatic re-enrollment for those who participated in the program last year, many residents can expect to receive their rebates without having to lift a finger.
