Suspect Zachary Babitz Arrested for Murder and Robbery in Santa Fe Crime Spree
Police Continue to Search for Female Accomplice in Arby’s Robbery and Carjacking
According to True Crime News, Zachary Babitz, a 38-year-old with a long history of criminal activity, was arrested in New Mexico after a series of violent events. On August 6, he is accused of shooting and killing 83-year-old Gordon Wilson in a Santa Fe Best Buy parking lot and then stealing Wilson’s car. Although Babitz was required to wear a GPS ankle monitor for a previous armed robbery, he wasn’t wearing it during this crime. On August 10, Babitz was found by Las Cruces Police after he and a female accomplice allegedly robbed an Arby’s at gunpoint and later crashed a stolen car.

Babitz Arrested After String of Violent Crimes; Police Search for Missing Accomplice
Police found Zachary Babitz and took him into custody, but his female accomplice is still missing. Authorities found Wilson’s car in Albuquerque, and Zachary Babitz was placed in the Doña Ana County Detention Center. He now faces several charges, including murder, robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and violating his parole. Babitz has a long history of crimes, including drug possession, robbery, and other violent acts. The woman whose car was stolen at Arby’s was not hurt. Police are still looking for Babitz’s partner in crime.
