Atlantic City Man Arrested for Repeated Dog Abandonment at Local Humane Society
Brenda, a Pit Bull Abandoned at a Shelter, Finds a New Home Despite Scars
According to Philly Voice, Jahlil McNeal, a 23-year-old man from Atlantic City, was arrested and charged with several offenses, including animal cruelty and neglect. Authorities say Jahlil McNeal was seen on video on July 15, throwing a black pit bull mix named Brenda over the fence of the Humane Society of Atlantic County late at night. This was the fourth time since April that Jahlil McNeal had abandoned a dog at the shelter. Despite arriving with visible scars, Brenda was later adopted.

Jahlil McNeal Linked to April Dog Abandonments; Humane Society Temporarily Suspends Pet Surrenders
Authorities found that Jahlil McNeal was involved in a similar case back in April, where three other dogs were left in the same manner. He was arrested during a traffic stop and is currently detained at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. The Humane Society has temporarily stopped accepting pet surrenders, and the police are asking anyone with more information to reach out to the Atlantic City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit.
