Meza-Alarcon Claims Chokehold Followed Physical Confrontation
According to True Crime News, at Colorado Springs 26-year-old Jorge Meza-Alarcon Jr. has been charged with first-degree murder for allegedly killing Annabelle Floren-Wyant a woman he met on Snapchat. On August 1 police were called to check on her at Halleluiah Trail where medics found her unresponsive and unable to save her. The investigation into her suspicious death led to Meza-Alarcon’s arrest.
The arrest affidavit reveals that Meza-Alarcon and Floren-Wyant had arranged a meeting where she planned to collect money from him. Floren-Wyant had asked a friend to keep track of her interactions with Meza-Alarcon due to concerns about his behavior. When Floren-Wyant stopped responding to her friend’s texts the friend called the police. Meza-Alarcon told authorities that Floren-Wyant struck him with a cellphone or another object which led to a physical altercation. He claimed that he then put her in a jiujitsu-style chokehold. Meza-Alarcon later reported that he blacked out and found himself miles away from the scene where he called the police saying he had been attacked.

Meza-Alarcon Admits Chokehold Use; Bond Set at $1 Million
Meza-Alarcon was found with facial injuries and a cracked iPhone 15. He admitted to using a chokehold on Floren-Wyant and stated he did not check her pulse before leaving the scene. The affidavit indicated that he knew the chokehold could be dangerous describing it as a technique that quickly incapacitates a person. Meza-Alarcon’s bond has been set at $1 million as he awaits further legal action in this case.
