Keona Mouton Sentenced to 23 Years for 2018 Murder of Delindsey Mack
Gang-Related Crime Involved Multiple Suspects, with One Still at Large
According to True Crime News, in a tragic case from Houston 22-year-old Keona Mouton was sentenced to 23 years in prison for her part in the 2018 shooting death of 18-year-old Delindsey Mack. On August 6, 2024 a jury convicted Mouton of murder for luring Mack to an after-school meeting at Lamar High School where two men fatally shot him. The shooting which took place on November 13, 2018, was gang-related. Mack however was not a gang member he had only pretended to be one on social media for protection.
Several people were involved in the crime. Kendrick Johnson a gang member was sentenced to life in prison in 2021 for his role in the shooting. Johnson was known for his violent actions and was described as the “main sniper” for his gang. Another man Dave’on Thomas was the getaway driver and received a 50-year prison sentence last year. The second shooter has not been identified or caught yet.

Mack’s Father Reveals Social Media Persona Made Son a Target; DA Promises Justice
Mack’s father said that his son’s fake gang image on social media was meant to keep him safe but instead made him a target in a gang feud. Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg called the crime a planned execution and stressed that everyone involved will be held accountable to ensure justice for Mack and his family.
