Montana Launches Property Tax Refund Program Offering Up to $675
Governor Greg Gianforte Signs New Initiative to Provide Financial Relief for 2023 Tax Year
According to AS, Montana is offering a property tax refund of up to $675 to help homeowners deal with rising property taxes. This new program signed into law by Governor Greg Gianforte is aimed at providing financial relief to residents. The refund is available for the 2023 tax year and is intended to ease the financial burden on homeowners throughout the state.

Eligibility and Application Details for Montana’s $675 Property Tax Rebate
To qualify for the $675 rebate homeowners must meet several conditions. They need to own and live in a Montana home for at least seven months in 2023. The home must be their main residence including single-family homes, apartments and mobile homes with up to one acre of land. Homeowners must have paid property taxes on their residence for 2023. Each household can only receive one rebate and properties owned by LLCs or corporations do not qualify. If the property taxes paid were less than $675 homeowners will receive a refund for the total amount paid.
Homeowners can apply for the rebate from August 15, 2024 to October 1, 2024. They can apply online through the Montana Department of Revenue’s website which takes about 30 days to process or by mail, which takes around 90 days. Applying early is recommended to receive the rebate quickly.
