Jared Dicus has received a 40-year prison sentence for the murder of his wife, Anggy Diaz, in Waller County, Texas. According to the Waller County District Attorney’s Office, Dicus pleaded guilty on July 31, 2023. Under the plea agreement he cannot appeal the sentence and will not be eligible for parole until at least 2043.

Husband Arrested and Charged for Decapitating and Dismembering His Wife
The horrifying incident took place on January 11, 2023, when deputies discovered Diaz’s body in a small structure behind their home on Oak Hollow Boulevard. Blood was found in the house, and deputies determined that Diaz had been decapitated and dismembered. Dicus was arrested at the scene and confessed to killing his wife, whom he had married just a few months prior.
During the trial, there were concerns about Dicus’ mental health, but he was deemed fit to stand trial. Waller County District Attorney Sean Whittmore emphasized that the community has zero tolerance for domestic violence. He stated, “Heinous crimes like this one will not go unanswered.
