Negligent Homicide Charge in Yavapai County After Infant Dies in Hot Car Incident
According to the Arizona Daily Independent, in a heartbreaking incident in Yavapai County, a young neighbor is facing charges of negligent homicide after a 6-month-old baby tragically died from being left in a hot car. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office reports that the baby was left strapped in a car seat for nearly seven hours on Tuesday. The baby’s mother had asked the neighbor for a ride to Prescott Valley, and while the baby fell asleep in the car on the way back, the neighbor forgot to drop the baby off with the father. Instead, the car was parked at home around 2:00 p.m., and the neighbor went inside, completely forgetting about the baby. This devastating oversight led to a tragedy that has left the community in shock.

Yavapai County Infant Death: Neighbor Faces Legal Trouble After Tragic Hot Car Incident
The terrible mistake was found when the baby’s father contacted the mother at 8:45 p.m., asking where the 6-month-old baby was. Realizing the 6-month-old baby had been left in the car, the panicked mother called the neighbor. The neighbor quickly ran to the father’s house to get the 6-month-old baby out of the car. Despite their efforts to revive the 6-month-old baby with CPR and the fast arrival of emergency services, the baby was pronounced dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner is investigating the death, and the young neighbor now faces serious legal trouble for this tragic event.
