Albany County Identifies Homicide Victim Found Near Mirror Lake as James Bitner
James Bitner from Colorado Identified as Homicide Victim in Wyoming
According to True Crime News, authorities in Albany County, Wyoming, have identified the man found dead near Mirror Lake on July 4 as 56-year-old James Bitner from Blackhawk, Colorado. The Albany County Sheriff’s Office found Bitner’s body wrapped in a tarp and sent it to the Larimer County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy. They determined it was a homicide. At first, they couldn’t identify him because he had no ID or recognizable marks. But on July 25, they confirmed his identity after checking fingerprints, DNA, and dental records.

Sheriff Confirms James Bitner’s Identity Through Fingerprints; No Suspects Yet in Homicide Case
Sheriff Aaron Appelhans said James Bitner was identified through his fingerprints. So far, there are no suspects in Bitner’s death. The Albany County Sheriff’s Office has promised to keep working on the case and help bring peace to Bitner’s family. They said, “The Albany County Sheriff’s Office remains dedicated to resolving this case and providing closure to the affected family.”
