Man Arrested After Domestic Violence Incident in Fargo, North Dakota
Suspect Barricades Himself, Threatens Self-Harm and Others
On Monday, in Fargo, Christopher Plentychief became the focus of a serious police operation after a woman reported domestic violence. Police were called to an apartment on 42nd St. S where the woman said Plentychief had hurt her badly. She claimed he hit her, threatened her with a knife, and poured lighter fluid around the apartment which raised fears of a fire. To keep everyone safe police quickly evacuated the building.
During talks with police, Plentychief said things that suggested he might harm himself even asking police to shoot him. The situation grew more intense when officers had to force their way into the apartment where Plentychief had barricaded himself. They arrested him and also took the woman into custody for breaking a protection order earlier that day. Both were then taken to Cass County Jail, according to the report of Valley News Live.
