Babysitter Charged with Murder After 4-Month-Old Dies from Injuries
Savannah Miller, 31, has been charged with serious crimes after a 4-month-old baby she was babysitting died. On July 21, police arrived at an apartment in Reed City and found baby Renzi McCall unresponsive and covered in bruises. Miller who had been drinking a lot was unable to care properly for the baby leading to her critical injuries. Renzi was taken to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital for emergency brain surgery but sadly died on July 25, according to the report of True Crime Daily.
Mother’s Drunken Neglect Leaves Baby with Severe Injuries
Miller had ordered alcohol while she was supposed to be watching the baby. At first, she said the baby got hurt from falling but the severe bruising and Miller’s drunken state made investigators doubt her story. Miller admitted she had low tolerance for alcohol because she had not been drinking much recently which made the situation worse. Due to these details and the charges against Miller have been upgraded to include first-degree child abuse, second-degree child abuse, felony murder, and second-degree murder.
Miller’s sister has publicly criticized her calling her “narcissistic” and “evil,” and is hoping that Miller gets the harshest possible punishment. This case has received a lot of attention showing the severe impact of Miller’s alleged neglect and drinking on the young baby’s life.
