Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Triple Murder of Family Members
A 37-year-old man, Brandon Lujan has been sentenced to three life terms in prison without the chance of release for killing his parents and brother. Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced the sentencing on July 24. Lujan was found guilty in June of three counts of first-degree murder. The sad event happened on August 8, 2021, when Phoenix police found the bodies of 56-year-old Irene Lujan, 63-year-old Lewis Lujan, and 30-year-old Matthew Lujan in their home. The victims had been dead for about three hours when police arrived.

Man Kills Brother, Parents, and Leaves Daughters Traumatized
The investigation showed that Lujan and his wife Raylien Loest had been kicked out of his parents house. A heated argument broke out when Lujan wanted to discuss the situation, and his brother, Matthew, got involved. This led to a fight and Lujan pulled out a gun shooting his brother dead. He then went inside and shot his parents multiple times even having to reload his gun. Prosecutors said Lujan’s two young daughters, who were in his car at the time heard their father say he was going to kill everyone before hearing the gunshots and screams.
Loest, who helped her husband escape was sentenced to three years in prison. During the sentencing, family members spoke about their deep sorrow and the empty space left by their loved ones. Mitchell criticized Lujan for showing no remorse and stressed how deeply the crime had hurt the family, according to the report of True Crime Daily.
