Gwinnett County Man Arrested After Pregnant Teen’s Body Found in Wooded Area
Authorities Charge 20-Year-Old with Homicide Following Discovery of 16-Year-Old’s Body
According to the report of True Crime News, Gwinnett County authorities have arrested 20-year-old Jesus Monroy after finding the pregnant teen body of his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend, Mia Campos, in a wooded area near her home. Campos’ family, worried when she didn’t return, used a cellphone tracking app to locate her body on July 15. A pregnant teen’s body autopsy the next day ruled her death a homicide, though the initial evidence at the scene did not explain how she died. Campos was seven months pregnant, and Monroy was identified as the father of her unborn child.

20-Year-Old Arrested for False Statements in Pregnant Teen Homicide Investigation Remains in Jail
Monroy was first questioned by police and then arrested the next day for giving false statements during the investigation. Sgt. Collin Flynn said Monroy’s conflicting statements led to his arrest for misleading authorities. He remains in Gwinnett County Jail without bond while the investigation continues.
