According to the report of The Providence Journal, tax deadlines in Rhode Island are happening now. They gave more time because of big storms earlier this year. Today, July 15, is the last day for people in Washington, Kent, and Providence counties to do federal taxes. Everyone in Rhode Island needs to finish state taxes today too.

A lot of people have already filed their taxes—more than 652,000! The state has given back $353 million in refunds so far. Some people can file for free using programs like VITA or the IRS’s “Free File.” These programs help if you earn up to $64,000 or $78,000.
