According to CBS NEWS MINNESOTA, in Algona, Iowa a profound tragedy has deeply affected the community as Kyle Ricke has been convicted of first-degree murder for fatally shooting police officer Kevin Cram. The heartbreaking incident occurred in September 2023 during Ricke’s attempted arrest for an active harassment warrant. In a shocking turn of events Ricke opened fire on Officer Cram gravely injuring him. Despite efforts to save him Officer Cram tragically passed away. He had faithfully served the Algona Police Department since 2015 having previously spent two years at the Nora Springs Police Department.
After the shooting a large manhunt spanned state lines and ended with Ricke’s arrest near Sleepy Eye, Minnesota that same night.
