Teacher of the Year Accused of Sending 60 ‘Love Letters’ to 11-Year-Old Student
Dylan Dukes, 27, Arrested and Charged with Stalking and Harassment in Disturbing Case
According to True Crime News, in Anderson County, South Carolina a disturbing case has emerged involving allegations against a 27-year-old elementary school teacher Dylan Dukes. Accused of stalking and harassment Dukes allegedly sent over 60 “love letters” to an 11-year-old former student of Starr Elementary along with gifts and an unwanted hug that made the victim uncomfortable. The situation escalated when Dukes joined the girl’s family church after learning she would no longer attend Starr Elementary further unsettling the victim and prompting concerns among her family and community members.
Upon receiving a report the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office swiftly intervened preventing the situation from escalating into physical harm as the juvenile feared. A search of Dukes’ classroom revealed photographs of the victim although authorities clarified these images were not of a sexual nature. Despite receiving accolades such as Teacher of the Year for the 2023-2024 school year Dukes now faces serious charges of stalking and is being held at the Anderson County Detention Center pending further investigation.
