According to the Shore News Network, Neil McCarthy, a 25-year-old man from Oregon, was arrested for indecent exposure on an American Airlines flight. The flight, originally going to Manchester, New Hampshire, was diverted to Buffalo, New York, because of his disruptive behavior. According to U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross, Neil McCarthy allegedly exposed himself and urinated in the aisle, prompting immediate action when the plane landed.

Neil McCarthy Faces Indecent Exposure Charge After Disrupting American Airlines Flight
Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles M. Kruly said that the Niagara Frontier Transit Authority (NFTA) Police were called to Gate 2 at Buffalo Niagara International Airport on July 3, 2024. When the plane arrived, an officer boarded and confirmed the incident with a flight attendant. The officer then arrested Neil McCarthy and took him off the plane. Neil McCarthy faces a charge of indecent exposure, which could result in six months in prison and a $5,000 fine. Neil McCarthy appeared in court before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and was released on his own recognizance, meaning he did not have to pay bail but must return for future court dates. This incident highlights the ongoing problems airlines and authorities face in keeping flights safe and orderly, showing the serious consequences of such behavior.
