How to Claim Up to $10,000 from Planned Parenthood Los Angeles Data Breach Settlement

According to The US Sun, Americans who received a notice about a data breach from Planned Parenthood Los Angeles (PPLA) in November 2021 can now claim up to $10,000. This is because of a $6 million settlement from a lawsuit after a big data breach in October 2021, which affected the personal information of 409,437 patients. To get this money, affected people need to send in a valid claim form by July 6, 2024.

The settlement reimburses costs such as bank fees, fraudulent charges, and identity theft damages with proper documentation. Claimants can receive $30 per hour for up to seven hours of lost time, three years of credit monitoring, and up to $1 million in identity theft insurance from TransUnion. Statutory damage payments will range from about $66.35 to $359.23, depending on the number of claims.
