According to The US Sun, thousands of people are hurrying to claim payments from a $5,250 settlement due to a 2022 data breach at Planet Nissan, also known as JS Autoworld in Las Vegas. The breach affected about 1,000 customers. Those eligible can get up to $500 for regular losses and up to $4,750 for bigger losses like fraud. They need to send in the required documents by July 1, 2024. All valid claimants will also get credit monitoring for years and $1 million in identity theft insurance.
In another case, tenants of Branford Manor in Groton, Connecticut, have won a $12.25 million settlement. The lawsuit claims poor management caused injuries and property damage. This settlement covers tenants who lived there between November 23, 2019, and November 22, 2022. Adults can get between $2,000 and $6,000, depending on how long they lived there, and minors can get between $1,000 and $3,000. The settlement aims to help those affected even though the company did not admit any fault.
