The latest Labor Department report shows a slight decrease in Americans filing for unemployment benefits last week highlighting a resilient job market amid economic challenges. Jobless claims fell by 6,000 to 233,000 for the week ending June 22, down from 239,000 the previous week indicating controlled layoffs despite concerns about higher interest rates and inflation, according to an Independent report.
Unemployment benefits for Americans rose for the eighth straight week, reaching 1.84 million by June 15. This indicates ongoing economic challenges in specific sectors despite overall stable jobless claims.
