Mother Rushes to Connecticut as Young Victims Receive Intensive Care Following Father’s Alleged Drowning Attempt
According to True Crime News, in the early hours of June 22 a distressing scene unfolded on a beach in West Haven, Connecticut. Romney Desronvil a 41-year-old man from Queens, New York was apprehended after allegedly attempting to drown his two young children in the ocean. The incident began around 2:30 a.m. when an alert officer from the West Haven Police Department noticed a Nissan SUV parked unusually on the beach. Intrigued and concerned by the suspicious activity the officer approached the vehicle only to be confronted with the chilling sound of frantic screams coming from the water. As the officer neared the commotion he saw Desronvil in the ocean with his children who were both under the age of three. Desronvil allegedly resisted the officer’s intervention moving further into the water while shouting for him to “stay back,” heightening the tension and urgency of the situation.
The escalating emergency prompted a swift and coordinated response from additional law enforcement and rescue teams. Officers from the West Haven Police Department supported by firefighters mobilized quickly. A West Shore Fire Department boat was deployed to assist in the critical rescue operation. Demonstrating remarkable bravery the initial responding officer entered the water and successfully rescued the two young children from their perilous situation. The children were brought to shore and immediately received emergency medical care. Paramedics provided essential lifesaving aid before transporting the children to the New Haven city line. There they were met by the New Haven Police who facilitated their rapid transfer to a nearby hospital. The young victims are currently receiving intensive care treatment in the ICU. Their mother who traveled from New York in the aftermath of the incident is now present providing comfort and support as the children recover from their traumatic ordeal.
