Law enforcement effectively captured a suspect who had barricaded himself inside a residence on Dixon Road in Leake County after a tense six-hour standoff. The situation intensified around 6:30 p.m. when an armored truck made a subsequent approach toward the house as reported by WLBT.
Negotiation attempts failed, and tensions escalated at 7:00 p.m. when a Sheriff’s Office drone pinpointed the suspect’s location. An armored vehicle returned an hour later, using loudspeakers to urge surrender amid safety concerns for all involved.
