Amazon’s $3M Privacy Settlement: Compensation Updates
Illinois Trampoline Park Settlement
Employees at certain trampoline parks in Illinois are due a $330 payment as part of a settlement over a privacy lawsuit. The lawsuit claimed that fingerprint data was collected without proper consent by CenterEdge, the system provider used by Sky Zone trampoline parks. Two groups qualify for the payment: those already identified by their employers and those who worked at specific locations and scanned their fingerprints between April 2014 and March 2024, according to the report of The US Sun.
The deadline for eligible individuals to file a claim form is June 24. Meanwhile, residents of Alaska will receive a $1,655 check from the state’s Permanent Dividend Fund an increase from last year’s payment. Distribution begins in the fall and another program offers $1,300 in free money to those who meet certain criteria. Amazon has agreed to a $3 million settlement with payments of $565 for eligible individuals. These developments emphasize the importance of privacy protection and fair compensation.
