Daughter Accused of Fatally Shooting Parents in Bedford Car Incident
Police Discover Parents’ Bodies After 24-Year-Old Confesses to Double Murder
According to True Crime News, in Bedford, Massachusetts a tragic event happened on June 6 when 24-year-old Jessica Cavallaro reportedly shot and killed her parents Thelma Tatten and Mark Cavallaro. The incident occurred while her parents were waiting in their car to take her out for breakfast. Police received a call from Jessica saying she had shot her parents. When officers arrived at Washington Street around 9 a.m. they found Thelma dead in the car which had rolled onto a neighbor’s lawn and Mark critically injured. Mark was taken to a hospital but died soon after. Jessica was arrested and charged with two counts of murder, assault, and illegal possession of a firearm.

Woman Shoots Parents After Panic Attack Claim; Community Left in Shock
According to reports Jessica’s parents had picked her up early from work because she claimed she had a panic attack. They dropped her off at her boyfriend’s house on Washington Street and waited outside to take her to breakfast. About 30 minutes later Jessica came out got into the car and allegedly shot her parents. She then returned to her boyfriend’s house and confessed to his parents. The gun used in the shooting belonged to her boyfriend and was kept in a safe. Jessica did not have a permit to carry the gun and had no previous criminal record.
Jessica Cavallaro has been arraigned in Concord District Court and is being held without bail while awaiting further court proceedings. A psychiatric evaluation has been ordered to understand her mental health condition. The deaths of Thelma and Mark Cavallaro have deeply shocked the Bedford community leaving friends and neighbors grieving the loss of two well-loved individuals. The case raises important concerns about gun safety mental health issues and how they can affect families.
