Elvis Ruvalcaba, aka “Rude,” was arrested on May 31, charged with open murder with a deadly weapon for allegedly assaulting Joseph Benavente with his girlfriend near the crime scene.
Fatal Stabbing Case Update: Suspect Arrested and Charged with Open Murder
On May 25, police found Joseph Benavente fatally stabbed near a walking trail on South Lamb Boulevard. He had wounds on his neck and arm, according to the crime report of True Crime Daily.
Elvis Ruvalcaba, known as “Rude,” was identified as a suspect. Witnesses claimed he left a nearby trailer before the attack and another witness alleged Ruvalcaba and his girlfriend assaulted Benavente.
Ruvalcaba was arrested on May 31 and charged with open murder with a deadly weapon. He remains in custody awaiting his court appearance on June 17.

Man Arrested for Alleged Assault Near Crime Scene Faces Open Murder Charge
In the investigation, witnesses revealed that Ruvalcaba had been seen near the crime scene and allegedly assaulted Benavente with his girlfriend. Ruvalcaba was arrested on May 31 and charged with open murder with a deadly weapon. He’s currently in custody awaiting his court appearance on June 17.
