Suspect Apprehended After Two-Year Search
Investigation Unveils Gruesome Details
According to True Crime News in a significant development law enforcement officers have apprehended 31-year-old Steven Oboite, who had been on the run for allegedly killing 24-year-old Allahnia Lenoir and disposing of her body in 2022. The arrest occurred on June 1, when officials from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources attempted to stop Oboite for violating a Jet Ski wake rule on Lake Allatoona. Instead of complying, Oboite tried to escape by heading to the shore and fleeing into the woods. However, authorities quickly caught and arrested him. This arrest ended a two-year search for Oboite who was wanted in connection with Lenoir’s disappearance and presumed death.
Oboite has been booked into the Bartow County Jail and faces several charges including giving false information to law enforcement and operating a watercraft under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The Atlanta Police Department had been searching for Oboite since Lenoir disappeared on July 31, 2022. She was last seen in the early hours at the Peachtree Apartments in Midtown Atlanta. Investigations revealed that Lenoir was with Oboite and another suspect Diante Reynolds at the time of her disappearance. The police believe that foul play was involved and that Lenoir did not leave the apartment on her own. This suspicion led to an extensive search for Oboite and Reynolds.

Ongoing Search for Justice and Closure
The investigation suggested that Lenoir was killed in the apartment and her body was moved to an unknown location. Reynolds was arrested in September 2022 and charged with several offenses including murder and concealing the death of another. In December 2022 Oboite was indicted on multiple charges including two counts of felony murder distributing a controlled substance hindering the apprehension of a criminal, concealing a death and tampering with evidence. Despite these arrests Lenoir’s body has not been found, leaving her family and the community without closure. The ongoing search for her remains and the quest for justice continue to weigh heavily on all those affected by this tragic case.
