The bus, once known as the CHOW bus, is now called the Greater Good Grocery Mobile Market Bus. It has shelves for fresh fruits and vegetables, canned goods, pantry staples, and a fridge for items like milk and eggs.
The mobile bus is open to everyone and accepts SNAP benefits, produce prescription vouchers, cash, and credit cards. According to Joe Sellepack, the executive director of the Broome County Council of Churches, the bus plays a crucial role for individuals facing transportation or mobility challenges, ensuring equitable access to food for all.
