Suspect Marko D. Ruot Arrested in Grand Forks After Fleeing Scene
According to the published article of WDAY News Talk, on Sunday morning in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, police responded to reports of a gunshot incident at an apartment building on 17th Street NW. When officers arrived around 9 a.m., they found no one was hurt. Witnesses said the suspect, Marko D. Ruot, had run away to Grand Forks, North Dakota. Police collected evidence of the gunshot incident and asked for help from Grand Forks police.

Grand Forks SWAT Team Arrests Suspect Marko D. Ruot Without Incident
Grand Forks officers, along with the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Department, quickly began searching for Ruot’s vehicle. They found it at an apartment complex on Primrose Ct. The police set up a perimeter around the building and tried to call Ruot, but he did not respond. This led to the Grand Forks Regional SWAT team and other special units being called in to help. After some time, officers were able to reach Ruot, who followed their instructions and was arrested without any problems. Ruot is now in the Grand Forks County Correctional Center, waiting for formal charges because of the gunshot incident. The quick work of the police from both cities ensured everyone stayed safe and the suspect was caught.
