The Biden administration announced a new plan to forgive student debt offering $7.7 billion to over 160,000 borrowers. Three groups are eligible. Those in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program, participants in President Biden’s SAVE Plan with its fast forgiveness option, and people receiving forgiveness through income-driven repayment (IDR) fixes made by the administration, as reported by Just The News.

The relief program targets borrowers in three categories: PSLF participants, those in the SAVE Plan with accelerated forgiveness and individuals benefiting from IDR fixes by the administration.

Administered through the Education Department, this initiative highlights the administration’s effort to ease the burden of student debt during an election year.
