Eligible Acura Owners in Four States Can Claim Settlement Money for Faulty HandsFreeLink Systems by May 30, 2024
According to the published article in The US Sun, Acura owners in California, Kansas, New York, and Washington might get money from a settlement with Acura. A lawsuit said some Acura models had a faulty HandsFreeLink system that drained the battery and caused other problems. Acura denies doing anything wrong but agreed to pay up to $500 for system replacements within 10 years or 120,000 miles and $350 for disabling the system in the same period.
The settlement helps Acura owners who had to replace batteries or disable the faulty system. To get the money, eligible Acura owners need to fill out a claim form by May 30, 2024, and show proof of the problem. The models covered are the 2004-2008 Acura TL, 2005-2008 Acura MDX, and 2007-2009 Acura RDX, if they were bought within 10 years or under 120,000 miles.
