Woman Sentenced to 55 Years for Stabbing Friend Nearly 500 Times
Guilty Verdict in Maine Stabbing Case Despite Denials
According to People, Kailie A. Brackett a 39-year-old woman has been sent to prison for 55 years for killing her friend Kim Neptune, 43, by stabbing her nearly 500 times in Maine. Despite Brackett saying she didn’t do it she was found guilty in December 2023. Another person Donnell Dana was also involved but his trial ended with no decision because the jury couldn’t agree.

Community Grapples with Closure After 55 Years Sentencing in Brutal Stabbing Case
Donnell Dana later admitted to getting rid of evidence linked to Brackett’s crime. He and Brackett have a child together and Dana used to live with Neptune. After Brackett’s sentencing, Passamaquoddy Councilmember Adam Newell said they’re glad justice was served for 55 years and they’ll focus on healing as a community.
