According to KTLA 5, Los Angeles County is starting its high-speed internet service to help people with little money. This high-speed internet service will be available in South L.A., East L.A., and Boyle Heights. It’s part of a plan called Community Broadband Networks where the county teams up with private companies to offer affordable internet.
With this new high-speed internet service, people can get internet very fast. Even if someone has unlimited money, they can still get internet for as low as $25 a month. To qualify, they must have a household income below 200% of the federal poverty line or receive government benefits like SNAP or Medicaid.
